Bitcoin Support and Resistance Levels: Quantitative Statistical Analysis

2026-09-04 06:47 GMT+0000 (updated)

Our methodology for identifying Bitcoin support and resistance levels is based on calculating percentage deviations from the previous closing price across multiple timeframes: monthly, weekly, daily, hourly, and 15-minute intervals. This analysis is based on historical Bitcoin closing-price data provided by Binance.

Statistical analysis shows that Bitcoin’s closing price moves beyond these levels only in a certain proportion of cases. While past market behavior does not guarantee that the same patterns will occur in the future, this approach provides a useful statistical basis for short-term Bitcoin price forecasting and risk management in cryptocurrency trading.

Current Bitcoin Support and Resistance Levels

The current Bitcoin support and resistance levels are calculated based on historical Binance data covering Bitcoin price movements over 438 weeks, from April 9, 2018, through August 30, 2026.

Major Bitcoin Support Levels Today

The major Bitcoin support levels today are located at 0.7%, 2.2%, and 4.3% below the previous weekly closing price:

  1. 0.7% — 59.82% probability.
  2. 2.2% — 69.86% probability.
  3. 4.3% — 79.68% probability.

These probability percentages indicate the historical probability that Bitcoin’s weekly closing price will be above the corresponding projected level. See Table 1 for all major Bitcoin support levels.

A Statistical Approach to Bitcoin Support and Resistance

Our Bitcoin forecasting model is used to forecast the weekly closing price of Bitcoin. However, support and resistance levels are determined using a separate statistical approach. We do not determine these levels by drawing subjective or manually identified lines on price charts. We also do not use traditional trading indicators such as MACD or RSI in this methodology.

Instead, the support and resistance levels are derived statistically from historical Bitcoin closing-price data and percentage deviations from the relevant previous closing prices across different timeframes. This research approach in the field of cryptocurrency is designed to provide objectively calculated statistical levels rather than levels based on visual chart patterns or discretionary technical analysis.
